Why did I not get an alert?

If you expected an alert but did not receive one, here are the most common reasons.

The outage was shorter than your failure threshold

WebsitePulse waits for a set number of consecutive failures before alerting you (2 by default). If your site went down and came back up within one or two checks, no alert would be sent. You can lower this to 1 in your monitor settings for maximum sensitivity.

The 30-minute cooldown is active

If you already received an alert in the last 30 minutes for the same monitor, we will not send another down alert until the cooldown expires. This prevents alert spam during intermittent outages. Learn more about the cooldown.

The monitor is paused

On the free plan, monitors are paused if the WebsitePulse badge is not detected on your site. Check your overview page for any monitors showing a paused status. Learn what to do if your badge is missing.

The alert went to your spam folder

Email providers sometimes filter automated emails. Check your spam or junk folder and add alerts@websitepulse.io to your contacts.

WhatsApp alerts are not configured

WhatsApp alerts require a Pro plan and need to be set up in Account settings. They are not enabled by default. Learn how to set up WhatsApp alerts.
