Acceptable Use Policy

Purpose

This policy sets out what you may and may not do when using WebsitePulse.io. It exists to keep the service fair, legal, and reliable for all users.

Permitted use

You may use WebsitePulse.io to monitor websites and online services that you own, operate, or have been explicitly authorised to monitor by the owner.

Prohibited use

You must not use WebsitePulse.io to:

Unauthorised monitoring

Monitor any website or service without the explicit permission of its owner. This includes competitor surveillance, scraping protected resources, or probing services you do not have rights to access.

Infrastructure abuse

Add URLs in a way intended to overload, stress-test, or disrupt a third-party service. Our monitoring sends a single lightweight HTTP request per check interval — it is not a load testing tool and must not be used as one.

Illegal activity

Use the service in connection with any unlawful purpose, including accessing systems without authorisation (contrary to the Computer Misuse Act 1990), stalking, harassment, or fraud.

Circumventing limits

Create multiple free accounts to exceed the limits of the Free plan. Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the WebsitePulse.io dashboard in ways not intended by the service.

Resale without permission

Resell, white-label, or redistribute WebsitePulse.io to third parties without our prior written agreement.

Harmful content

Configure monitors or account details to contain content that is defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful.

Badge requirement (Free plan)

Free plan users must display the WebsitePulse status badge on any website being monitored, with a functioning link back to websitepulse.io. Removing or obscuring the badge while remaining on the Free plan constitutes a breach of this policy and the Terms of Service.

Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to suspend or terminate accounts without notice where we have reasonable grounds to believe this policy has been breached. We may also report illegal activity to relevant authorities.

Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is using WebsitePulse.io to monitor your website without permission, or in any other abusive way, please contact us at legal@websitepulse.io.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
